Nervous system and relationship coaching

Everything is just a relationship.

Your relationship to stress. To anger. To sadness. To safety. To love. To the person sitting across from you at the end of a long day.

All of it runs through your nervous system, and your nervous system runs on your breath. So that is where I start people. Not with mindset. With physiology.

Why breath

The one system that talks to every other system.

Your respiratory system is the only one in your body that runs on its own and still hands you the controls. Your heart will not take a request. Your digestion will not take a request. Your breath will.

That makes it the door. Change how you breathe and you change what your nervous system thinks is happening. Change what your nervous system thinks is happening and you change what you can hold.

Your mind, your heart, your body, your nervous system, they are all talking to each other constantly. That is a relationship. And if that is a relationship, it plays straight into every other one you have.

Who I work with

Mostly women who are holding a lot.

My one to one roster is almost entirely women. Not because I set out that way, but because women tend to actually go get help when they want to change something, instead of trying to lone wolf it and calling that strength.

They tell me the reason it works is that they feel safe. That is the intention. I am not here to fix you or hand you a list of affirmations. I am here to find the patterns running your life, see where your body is making the decision before you get a say, and give you a way back in.

I will not call myself a relationship expert. Some days I am not an expert in my own. What I am good at is reading what is playing out in someone's life and knowing how to get their nervous system to shift it.

I do not coach coping. I coach clarity. Shea Fairbanks

How it goes

There is a skeleton. The rest is yours.

Everyone runs the same three stages in the same order, because skipping one is why breathwork feels great on a Sunday and does nothing by Wednesday. What goes inside those stages depends entirely on your life.

Mechanics

How you are actually breathing right now. Nose or mouth, chest or diaphragm, held or moving. Most people are running a pattern they picked up as a kid, and nobody has ever looked at it with them.

Physiology

Building tolerance so your body stops reading a normal Tuesday as a threat. This is the part that is measurable, and it moves faster than almost anyone expects it to.

State

Using it when it counts. The hard conversation, the bedtime meltdown, the moment you would normally leave your own body for. That is the whole point of the first two stages.

Where this came from

Performance breathing, stress, and respiratory physiology.

That is my actual background. Before any of this was about relationships, it was about people whose lives depended on staying calm while their body screamed at them to do something else.

Tier 1 and Tier 2 Special Forces

Years of work with special forces groups across Canada and the United States. Non disclosure agreements mean I can confirm the work and not the names. It is a pain, but it is the deal I signed.

Members of the NHL

Professional hockey players, including work through my home city. Same rules on names. What I can tell you is that recovery between shifts is a breathing problem before it is a fitness problem.

Then everything changed

A lot of that work was really about the coping mechanisms underneath the performance. Once I saw that, the relationship piece was not a pivot. It was the thing I had been doing the whole time.

The tool is breathing. The subject is your life.

The capacity read.

A short assessment that gives you a read on where your nervous system is actually sitting and what that is costing you in your relationships, your sleep, and your patience.

You get your results either way. No call required, no hoop to jump through. If working together makes sense, we will talk about it. If it does not, I will tell you that too.

The way back to your heart.

The pattern you keep ending up in is not a picker problem and it is not a communication problem. It is a capacity problem, and capacity is built in the body.

This is the whole thing written down. The real assessments, the real breath work, the four patterns, and a thirty day path with room to write in. Not a preview and not a sample. The actual work I do with private clients.

4 baseline assessments 8 breath practices 30 days, week by week 12 places to write it down

The capacity assessment

Nine minutes. Then you will know what you are working with.

Questions about how you sleep, how you recover, and how you handle the conversations that matter. At the end you get your capacity score, the stage you are stuck in, and something to start on.

I read these myself. If your answers tell me you need something other than what I sell, I will say so.
